easy maternity fashion + top 5 goals for the new year

As we enter the New Year most, if not all of us come up with a few New Year’s resolutions. They often pertain to eating healthier, working out & staying more organized throughout the year. 2018 is the first year I have decided to create goals instead of resolutions. I feel like there is much less pressure surrounding goals vs. resolutions. Below check out my top 5 goals for 2018 + quick tips for dressing a 26 week baby bump.

2018 Goals:

Create a Morning Routine and (Actually Stick to it)

This one is exceptionally hard for me to do considering I LOVE to sleep in. As my due date quickly approaches I am learning that if I do not create a morning routine now, my well being will suffer after our little one arrives. If this is also your goal for the new year (considering most successful people have a morning routine) start small. Set your alarm earlier in the morning, make breakfast and enjoy that morning coffee. Starting your morning off right will set your day in the right direction.

Grow my Businesses, Blog + Freelancing Ventures

This has been a personal goal of mine for quite some time now. I have always seen myself staying at home with my children and being present in the early years of their childhood. That being said I have never wanted to be a SAHM but more of a WAHM. I want to be able to contribute to my families finances, savings and bills all while having the flexibility of working from home. Now I have 3 months to make that dream a reality! Let’s do this!

Stick to a Weekly Meal Plan

If you are a busy family like ours you know what I mean when I say it is hard to stick to a weekly meal plan. We often order out due to convenience and let perfectly good food go to waste in our fridge. This year our goal is to stick to a weekly meal plan as much as we can. This means when grocery shopping for the week plan your meals ahead of time. You will spend less money at the grocery store, and spend less money on frivolous take out purchases. The best part of meal planning? It’s a healthier option as well!

Create Traditions with my Family

Creating traditions is one of my top goals for the new year. As our little one arrives in April I feel the pressure to create memories that will last him a lifetime. This means carrying on traditions such as visiting pumpkin patches in my husband’s home town, Christmas tree picking, baking cookies for Santa, etc. Do you have family traditions? Let me know what they are in the comments below!

Continue to De-Clutter my Life, Home & Office

Organizing our home and getting ready for baby boy has been a must have for my husband and I this year. Call it nesting if you will, our one bedroom apartment was not cutting it the way it was previously set up. We have both taken the time get rid of unnecessary crap that was taking up space in our home (clothes, shoes, housewares & furniture) and bought furniture pieces that added much needed organization. One of my goals for the new year is to continue to de-clutter. Minimalism is my motto for the new year!

Easy & Stylish Maternity Outfit :

Lately I have been obsessed with THESE maternity tank tops from Target. They are only $10 and come in about 5 or 6 colors. I love them because they do not have the gathering on the sides like most maternity tanks/clothes have & I wear them every single day! The best part about these tanks is that you can wear them after baby is born should you want. From there I layered a loose fitting Spiritual Gangster cropped sweater that shows off my bump & THESE maternity jeans from Old Navy. PS: The side panel jeans are the only maternity jeans anyone needs to wear. So comfortable! Next tip is to accessorize like crazy. Here I opted for a felt hat & THESE loafers from Ralph Lauren.
