Because fall is just around the corner, and Starbucks has already dropped the first PSL of the season (hands high if you are a #basicbitch like me) you’ll know fall fashion has also arrived. As like many of you I am a huge lover of boots, scarves, plaid shirts, floppy hats and everything that encompasses fall fashion. That being said I thought I would create a series on my blog entitled “Styling Sessions”. This comes after much thought of adding a styling aspect to my online boutique, Simply 1 Love (which you can find HERE). I have just launched our AW16 collection and will be styling pieces from the shop here on the blog.
If you want to work with me on creating a capsule wardrobe, shopping tips, styling for events and parties, etc. you can email me via our contact page. I have already taken on a few clients and we are having a blast creating new outfits for an upcoming trip to NYC.
Check out how I style this classic below!
How to Style: The Classic Plaid Shirt
Classic Oversize Plaid: I opted for a small here as they run on the larger side. These flannel shirts are so comfy and are the perfect transition piece into fall. If it gets a little warmer you can always tie it around your waist as that trend is so in right now!
Structured Hat: Here you can go with anything from a light colored hat to darker, floppy or structured. I chose one to match my shirt but you can easily grab a black felt one to match your pants. PS: This one is from Torrid and was very reasonable! I love shopping there for accessories and jewelry.
Leggings: I just chose a basic pair from Target, but you can easily add ripped black skinny jeans or dark wash skinnies. Whatever you choose make sure your boots stand out!
Boots: Here I wore my favorite ones from Qupid (I swear these must be at least 5 years old) but I know over the knee boots are so in right now. You shouldn’t have any issues finding them in most stores. I actually just found out about 6pm.com (a discount shoe store) and I’m hooked!
